After a life changing event such as an illness, injury or surgery sometimes the allowed recovery time in the hospital isn’t quite enough. That is where we come in! You or your loved one can continue your journey to recovery right here at Collingsworth General Hospital and ease the family’s burden of caring for a loved one after a hospital stay.
Swing Beds are a special program offered by rural hospitals to patients with ‘Traditional’ Medicare. This program allows patients extra time to recover with services specially designed to help the patient and their family with recovery after an illness, injury or surgery. Our staff becomes an extension of your family and continuity of care is provided by your local physician responsible for your ongoing care during recovery and beyond.
24/7 care by licensed nursing staff under supervision of a medical provider. Wound care, medications and pain management are some of the many responsibilities of the nursing staff, who will treat the patient like family.
Recovering at home isn’t easy for those who still need to have Intravenous Therapy after their stay in a hospital. Our nursing staff will administer IV therapy for the patient.
Our staff of professional therapists will help build strength, balance and work to restore functional ability for those who need additional work after a hospital stay. Their goal is to get the patient able to return home safer and stronger.
Teaching and training the patient and/or family to help the patient be more successful once they return home. Learning the proper care during their stay is key to a successful patient recovery.
Our team of therapists work with our local physicians using the latest tools and techniques to promote healing of high-complexity wounds
